1 "End of the World" & 8 "Anti-War" Haiku (6-5-12)

Unnecessary End
Sky falling down soon.
Avaricious idiots
ruin Earth and Man.
----------------------
Soldiers’ Soon Enough Epiphany
Needing illusion,
they trust one cares there on high
brass totem. Dream on.
----------------------
enough.
Under coffin's lid
lies still another stiff kid
lied to by country.
----------------------
Peace, Hegemony-style
Redacting conscience,
vulture culture blasts lives gone. Raped
land left napalm calmed.
----------------------
David Gregory's Faux Gauntlet
As war-sell generals
Sundays "Meet the Press", how many
minions meeting death?
----------------------
A Soldier's Sky
As fretful clouds roam,
branches claw solace from full,
inscrutable moon.
----------------------
Young Blood
Citizens ignore
war’s revolving door to horror
young soldiers must brave.
----------------------
Defense Spending
Quagmires of blood, fed
troops by Congress-whores for goals
of Vampire Lobbies.
----------------------
2012: D.C. and The Bull of Wrongs
What wise forefathers
once gave, Gucci-loafered faux
fathers take away.
------------
I've often wondered what it was like to live during the late Middle Ages, when death rates from the Plague were well over 50%. We're a long way from that number and cancer death from nuclear waste releases and endocrine disruptors is slow and agonizing rather than abrupt like bubonic plague. Our total lack of choice in the matter - the fact that we have absolutely no way to protect ourselves is the same. I think I detect some of the same fatalist in your haku.
Well done... it is such a sad subject.
All good...faux fathers! :D
"Gucci-loafered faux fathers" is brilliant. Rave on, my friend!
Great job with the haiku Libby but nobody will ever outdo Jim Morrison:

“Breakfast where the news is read
Television children fed
Unborn living, living, dead
Bullet strikes the helmet's head”
Love them all. Gucci-loafered faux fathers will linger.
All of them
I like
truth be told
deep in hell.

Good work Libby.
"What wise forefathers
once gave, Gucci-loafered faux
fathers take away."

My favorite.
"brass totem. Dream on."

Yeah, brass totem, hahaha, sigh. God Libby, when will it end? When will it be clear it's all a hideous lie? I keep wondering if we have to self-destruct to understand. If so, will it be enough to destroy the country or will we have to destroy the planet?

"Your money or your life," is what the robber asks you. People keep choosing their money...
